– We do this by offering assessments & therapy services at your child’s school, trained Learning Support Assistants, as well as case management & IEP planning for your child. 

 

– Collaboration between all stakeholders involved in the child’s progress (including LSAs, teachers & the SEN department) is effective in ensuring success of your child in all settings.

Therapy at School

The environment that a child faces in school may be very different from what it is at home, in the centre, or even in the community. With school-based services, we can help recognise & address the unique challenges that a child may face in school and design a plan that can help the child be more successful. Intervention works best when it is trained in a variety of settings (centre, school, home & the community).

 

We offer all our therapy services – ABA Therapy, Speech Therapy & Occupational Therapy through our experienced staff at select schools in Dubai & Sharjah.

 

The process remains the same. We first do an in-take assessment with our BCBA/BCaBA or Speech/OT departments, develop a plan for your child, and then begin services.

 

While in school, our aim is to have these services integrated as much as possible into the child’s routine to promote better integration of skills. Learning Support Services

  • We have specialised training courses to train Learning Support Assistants/ shadow teachers to provide 1:1 support to our children in school & nurseries.
  • Our LSAs undergo intensive, hands-on training via classroom & practical training prior to being assigned a child at school.
  • We also provide ongoing supervision by our BCaBA & BCBA and IEP planning services, to ensure that the LSA is able to follow the IEP and ensure best results for the children in the school environment.
  • We also attend IEP planning & progress meetings to help align therapy goals at the centre with school goals.

For Schools

Inclusion Services

BE aims to support the inclusion of children in all environments – including school. With over 20 years’ expertise in developing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) for our children, we can assist schools and SEN departments with development & implementation of IEPs, designing trackers, as well as monitoring ongoing progress of children using measurable outcomes.

Our comprehensive inclusion support services include:

  • Case management and consultation with the SEN department for schools, setting IEPs, tracking progress of students in line with KHDA’s SEN policy.

  • Ongoing collaboration and sharing of IEPs & progress reports for children who are already enrolled with BE on a case to case basis.

  • Specialist services in the school – ABA therapy, Speech therapy, Occupational therapy, and/or Psychology assessment.

  • Teacher/Staff Trainings on topics including IEP planning, Behavior Management, Classroom strategies, ABA principles etc. (See our Training page for full list of trainings) 

  • Coffee mornings, parent workshops, and awareness programs held in school by our Psychologist, BCBAs, Speech Therapists or Occupational Therapists. (Contact us to schedule these free of charge!)
