About This course is an introduction to Behaviour Analysis. Behaviour analysis emphasises on the principles that explain how learning takes place. Topics to be covered include verbal behavior and its operants (manding, tacting, listener responding, intraverbal, motor and vocal imitation, etc.) Topics such as reinforcement, punishment, extinction, discrimination training, generalization, shaping, conditioned reinforcement and schedules of reinforcement are covered. Introduction to intervention procedures will include discrete trial therapy, natural environment training, incidental teaching, task analysis, social skills instruction and direct instruction.
The course will examine solicitations of behaviour principles through intervention techniques to address behavioral deficits/excess. Participants will learn to conduct preference/reinforcer assessments and basic functional behavior assessment, as well as procedures for modification of behavior.
Participants will have the opportunity to observe ABA based instruction in a 1:1 setting, and practice the learned intervention skills with children, under the supervision of our qualified instructors.
The course instruction will be conducted through lecture, video demonstrations, role-playing, in vivo observation and practice sessions.
At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
Define and describe behavior in measurable terms
Understand functions of behavior and conduct functional behavior assessment under supervision
Conduct preference assessment
Implement interventions based on modification of antecedents, extinction and differential reinforcement
Use contingencies of reinforcement (continuous and intermittent)
Understand components of discrete trial teaching
Implement errorless teaching and error correction procedures
Implement naturalistic teaching procedures
Implement stimulus control transfer and prompt fading procedures
Understand and teach various operants of verbal behavior
Collect appropriate data for measurement of behavior and behavior change
Target Audience Special Educators, Learning Support Assistants, Speech Language Pathologists, Shadow Teachers, Parents of children with developmental delays or ASD, Individuals working or interested in clinical, residential, or vocational programs serving persons with developmental disabilities.
Certification At the end of the course, participants will get a KHDA-attested certificate for attending the hands-on foundation course. They may avail opportunities to work with children in different settings as potential source of employment (shadow teachers/ABA interventionists) under the supervision of behavior analysts.

About The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is a paraprofessional who practices under the close, ongoing supervision of a BCBA, BCaBA, or FL-CBA. The RBT is primarily responsible for the direct implementation of behavior-analytic services. The 40 hour RBT Training is conducted as prescribed by RBT Task List laid down by BACB.
